Digitizing emergency response
With the New South Wales Rural Fire Service (NSW RFS)
Delivering data when every second counts
In collaboration with Fujitsu, NSW RFS has transformed its emergency response capabilities through a unified, data-driven platform, enabling rapid, coordinated dispatch and improved safety for firefighters and the communities they serve.
“The partnership with Fujitsu, underpinned by shared values of trust, innovation, and community, exemplifies how the NSW RFS is embracing change to meet emerging challenges.”

Commissioner, New South Wales Rural Fire Service
Faster dispatch and richer field intelligence
During Australia's devastating 2019–2020 bushfire season, the NSW RFS faced limitations with its analogue radio systems. These voice-only channels often became congested during emergencies, slowing the flow of vital information like weather updates, maps, and safety alerts.
In partnership with Fujitsu, the NSW RFS deployed a fully integrated digital emergency response platform that connects frontline vehicles with a central dispatch system. This solution combines Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) and in-vehicle Mobile Data Terminals (MDTs) to create a single source of truth for incidents.
