Group Manager of the Quantum Computing Group at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC)
Artur Garcia Saez is the group manager of the Quantum Computing group at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC). He holds a PhD on Quantum information at the Institute of Photonic Sciences (ICFO). His research explores the design and applications of novel quantum algorithms and the interface with other disciplines such as Nuclear Physics or Computer Vision. The development of his group focuses on the simulation of quantum systems and circuits of large scale using supercomputers such as the recently installed Marenostrum 5
Large scale simulation of quantum systems with supercomputers
The development of Quantum computers can benefit enormously from simulations, but these are exponentially expensive and of limited application. Using techniques from Tensor Networks, a powerful framework to describe Quantum systems, we show how to implement and run a simulation framework intended for large distributed computers.
